help in filling up IMM0008

Can anyone has idea what i have to select citizen to be filled in IMM0008 in case of tibetan refuge born and brought up in india? I dont see Tibet in the option of citizen? Any help is appreciated..

Tibet is not recognized as a country by Canada. You were born in India - does India recognize you as a citizen? I assume yes, so put India. If India does not recognize children born in India to refugees as Indian citizens, report back here and we will investigate further.

You must have a Passport, right? Doesn't that mean you are a Citizen of that Country?

We have travel document issued by Indian passport authority. Officially to world we are Chinese but we dont accept it.. so what should i write?

n December 22, 2010 the Delhi High Court passed a judgement (W.P.(C) 12179/2009 ) supporting the right of a Tibetan born in India to claim Indian citizenship by birth, as per the Indian Citizenship Act (CA). I understand where you are coming from and I support it. However, your goal is to come to Canada. Since you have travel document issued by Indian Government, why can't you use India as the Country of Residence/ Citizenship?

Look in the Forms/ Guide section of Canadian Government's official websit, www.cic.gc.ca , if you would like to find out specific into this matter.

Travel document issued by Indian govt. mentioned that we are tibetan refugee. Even residence permit has mentioned that we are tibetan refugee but on IMM0008 there is no has option of 'Tibet'........ i have to opt either INDIA OR CHINA? what to do??

I would go with India, since you do not have any travel document from China.

Yes.. I know about it.. I am falling into this catagory who by law can claim Citizen of india but there is some restrictions and procedures within the Exile Tibetan Govt in Dharamsala.. I dont know process of demanding citizen of india...

If i write india, i am afraid CIC may return my file back... so i just want to make sure before it goes out of my hand.....any input here is appreciated...

I'd choose India, then attach a note to that form explaining your situation.

Yes.. this is infact good idea... i guess you would go for your option unless i found any other option. still anyone insight is appreciated...

I am going to write india as my country of citizen and will make a note that base of delhi court decision i am india citizen by birth..

To you i guess should opt got Bhutanese coz Bhutanese govt do deliver their citizen to tibetan if one ask for.
