Hey, everyone,
I studied at a university in Canada 4 years ago majoring in Electrical Engineering.

However, atfer a few months study, I found I wasn't interested in EE so I applied for a leave of absence and wen back home immediately working as a software developer.
Now, I want to go back to Canada, but my study permit expired 2 years ago, so I have to re-apply it.

I have already got an offer from SAIT which is a college in Calgary. However, I'm not sure how to explain the experience I had 4 years ago in my SOP.

Could anyone give me some advice? Should I tell the truth? Will that experience have a bad impact on me? Thanks so much.

Be truthful, explain your point and am sure IRCC will hear your story.

You can explain you had a job offer which was better for your professional goals. you didn't break any law by discontinuing your studies and going back home. As you didn't apply for pgwp, so can still apply after you finish your program. Explain in Additional documents, provide evidence to support your story.

I forgot to say that I already had a bachelor degree of computer science before I went to Canada to study EE. That’s why I could find a software developer job after going back home
