"My previous posts have the full details, but basically we need advice because we were housemates before, but never common-law and need help making sure my boyfriend/husband won't get in trouble because he is also a PR who landed as single."

If he has already given CIC his addresses in his own PR form, and they are the same as your addresses for at least a year, you will need a lot of proof you were not common-law. Get affidavits from the landlord and all roommates that you two were just living in the same house, that you were not a couple, that you were just friends, etc.
