Hi,

I applied for permenant residency in October 2014 and recieved this email in Feb 2015 - it is not clear from the email whether I am still in processing (i.e. must wait for confirmation that I have been fully approved) or whether I need to take this to immigration Canada and complete my residency application. Can someone please advise?

This is what they sent:

"This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada under the Canadian Experience Class.

Upon review of the information you have provided, your application is considered complete based upon the requirements of the Instructions and Regulation 10 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).

X This correspondence also acknowledges receipt of your Fee Payment Form IMM 5620 authorizing CIC to take payment of processing fees using the credit card details provided. Please be informed that we processed a payment of 550.00 Canadian dollars on this credit card. Your receipt number is Pxxxxxxxxx. Please keep a copy of this letter for your records and quote this number on all correspondence relating to application fees or refunds."

Thanks

Pete

Hey, thanks for the reply! I'm not quite following what you mean when you say that's it? Does that mean I'm approved? Can I just go to immigration services and pick up my PR card? Or am I missing something!?

Hi peter,

The mail you received was Acknowledgement of receipt. You will be considered under CEC program. The process just started.. you will be receiving communication from CIC in future regarding your application. the total process time is 12- 15 months from the date of AOR( I believe). Please join the below thread you will get more information.

Good Luck :)

Well, we all wish its that simple and that automatically grants you the rights of a permanent resident. It is not, its the start of it as rightly said by the earlier comment. You have been lucky as you scaled the pool of short listed applicants..Bravo!!
