So.. I have a multiple entry TRV, but it's a V-1, valid until 2017. Do I need to apply for another TRV or just a study permit?

There's a difference between V-1 and S-1, I knooow. What will happen to my V-1? Huhu. Confused!

i am not an expert but as far as i know... on visitor visa you r not allowed to stay in canada more than 6 months where as you are allowed to stay for the complete time span in Canada as mentioned on your S-1 / student visa.

so if you are staying in the country and not leaving canada then i guess you should be fine based on your Study permit once you leave canada then they might question on your visa status but i think we need certainly an expert opinion on that one though.

I wish if i could help u with this honey!
don't worry when i reach canada then i guess i would be able to answer your query lol

If you apply for S-1, your V-1 may not be cancelled. It may still be valid till 2017.

Quote: "It is not necessary to cancel any valid pre-existing visa in the passport if the purpose for which it was obtained remains valid (for example, a bona fide business person holding a long-term multiple entry TRV who requires a short-term study permit)."

those who said ur v1 will not expire... it will be cancelled, because now you will enter the country as student, so if u wanna visit home, u will go back as student,, and do not worry, now s1 also has multiple entries....
soo cheers up1!!

Thank you very much for the info, guys! :) Good luck to everyone! :p
