I am new to this forum so pls guys help me out.
1. I am interested in doing my masters in canada in computer networking and internet security, but i am a graduate of mathematics and computer science, i graduated with a gp(grade point of 3.04). pls i want to know if i am eligible for a masters program. If no wat do i do.

2. If i am to undergo a postgraduate diploma do you guys think it would boost my chances of enrolling for a masters program, if yes how long does a pgd in canada take and wat schools offer pgd in computer system and network security or network systems security.

Hi,

It depends, from which country you are and what grading system you follow.
For example, to be eligible for most Master degree programmes offered by Canadian universities, atleast B grade in final 2 years of your 4 years Bachelor's degree (or B grade in final 2 years of your 3 year's bachelor's + 1 or 2 years master's degree) is required.

Now, different universities have either uniform or slightly different scale for determining what "B" grade is depending upon your country of origin.

For example, Most Canadian universities consider 60% as equal to B grade for students from India and some universities (like Memorial University, univ. of Manitoba) consider 55% or more as equivalent to B grade for students from India.

So, depending upon which country you are from, you need to see equivalent conversion charts of different Canadian universities on their websites and see, if you are atleast equivalent to their B grade or not..and hence you will know, you are eligible for admission or not.

Incase, you cannot find the equivalent conversion chart of a particular university, you will need to email the university, present your profile and ask...if you are eligible to apply or not.

Remember, meeting the minimum B grade criteria is no guarantee for getting admission.
