hi i am a uk visitor to canada and i am applying to extend my stay my question is regarding health insurance do i need to buy health insurance from a canadian company for a full years cover as needed for a super visa or can i buy travel insurance from a canadian company to cover my extended stay here i cant seem to find the answer to this question on any web sites so far i would be gratefull if any readers to this site could help me thank you

You can certainly apply for health insurance while already in Canada. You would only need to buy it for an entire year (and minimum $100,000 of coverage) if you were to apply for a Super Visa (which you can also apply for while already in Canada). Otherwise, you have the options of choosing which amount of coverage and period of time you want the coverage for.

hi to the readers of this forum im happy to say i now have my health insurance to cover my extended stay i bought $50,000 cover for 6mths at a very reasonable price it was actually the same price as the online companys so thanks for your information
