I want to travel to Canada with my French passport ..do I also need a health insurance??

No, it's not mandatory to have insurance if you're just a tourist. However, it's always a good idea to have insurance, medical care is very expensive in Canada if you don't have insurance.

I'm not familiar with French insurance so I can't say if your current healthcare works in Canada. You should find out before you travel.

How can you have a French passport, be denied asylum in Germany and trying to seek asylum in Canada? This screams document fraud. If your friend has given you their documents they can be charged.

Not sure why the person thinks he will get asylum if Germany refused. We have somewhat similar asylum requirements.
