If you have sent the application to Novascotia and not heard after six weeks then suggest do following:-
(a) Track courier delivery or registered mail information . If sent by ordinary post , tough luck !!!
(b) Seek confirmation from your banker on date of encashment of demand draft by the beneficiary
(c) Send a reminder to CIU, Novascotia by post as no other way to contact at present.
(d) Request CAIPS . For information visit www.caips.ca. You can request CAIPS even if you do not have AOR or file number.

1. They won't reply to a letter and there will be nothing on CAIPS. Just be patient, if the application made it to CIU Sydney, they will reply eventually. Look you are going from a system where you would be lucky if your application made it to the top of the pile in 5/7 years, now you are fretting about a month or two.

If you are coming in with an employer,You can have your employer contact his or her MP to do a Parliamentary Inquiry on the status,I just had Don Davis the NDP Immigration critic s office do one and Nova Scotia answered back in 3 days.I guess they are careful of somebody who can bash them during Question Period

If the OP was applying with an AEO s/he wouldn't be applying to CIU Sydney would s/he? Sydney is processing the applications in less than 2/3 months, so do you really want to jam up the process by unnecessary inquiries?

I know I can be a pain in the ass for CIC,But My boss believes in going the extra mile to help people and I have found using Politicians really effective in repeated interactions with CIC.Going back to actual cases,A fellow was waiting for his PR approval taking longer then usuall,Within 3 days of Don Davis office calling,He was informed it was on the way.CIC is respectful of the Immigration Critic???.Chinese fellow waiting for his PR card that was delayed, after Jason Kenney s Parliamentary Secretary MP Alice Wong s office intervened,He picked it up in 2 days.Actuall case Today,Normally BC PNP takes 1-2 month before looking into a case,I had the office of Deputy Premier Shirley Bond s Office Contact them last week and they called less then 2 weeks after the application was recieved.I guess I can be a pain in the ass for CIC as an advocate for my constituent

But sending queries that won't produce a result really just wastes time (especially in Sydney) where you would rather have them vetting applications rather than running around looking for joe blogs application that has been there for a month. Don't forget they are getting the applications from around the world that have been piling up since Feb/08.

Watch the next complaint that will be coming, CIC has said that for FSW 1 you have exactly 120 days to submit a completed application when the request is sent Then it will be reviewed, there will be no extensions, no waiting for ielts results, 120 days. There is a letter that was received by a poster in another group from CIC London.
that basically said that if we don't receive all the requested documents within 120 days, we will consider that you are no longer interested in emigrating to Canada, and will close our file.
