Hi everyone,

I got into this situation. I am a foreigner student who pursuit the MS degree in Korea.
Now i am applying study permit for PhD in Canada.
In the past 2007, i used to apply for a tourist visa for US but it was denied. In 2012, I changed my new passport and has traveled to the US for a conference on June 2012. Now when i applied for the study permit in KOrea on August, I answered the question in the BACKGROUND information "Have you ever been refused admission, or ordered to leave Canada or other countries" with a "NO".
I got a Medical call on 23 August and it has been 5 weeks since the day i complete the exam.
Are there any chances the my visa to canada is denied just because i answer NO to that question.
I refer to other topic in this forum and found that my case is similar to the other. Refused admission means that refused at the port of entry, so it has nothing to do with the US visa, right?

But it seems too long for me to get a result, as i never know until the day the letter of acceptance or refusal is sent.
If anyone got any idea, please help me!

You should have answered "yes" to that question and provided details about how/why you were refused. Being refused a tourist visa is the same thing as being refused admission.

Technically this is misrepresentation and can result in your application being refused by Canada. Keep in mind that the US and Canada do share certain immigration records.

You'll just have to hope CIC doesn't find out.

If you had just submitted your application then I would have recommended that you withdraw your application and correct this error. However I think it's too late for that at this point.

Hi scylla

I just wonder why they did not refuse me in the first days but why allow me to have medical test.
I think there is nothing i can do now to fix it as they might finalize the decision.
I am very worried about my situation and really hope they will not find out.
It is too bad that if i got rejected i will be banes for 2years without reapply the case.
Maybe i will give up the study after this failure

Do you know anyone got into the same situation and was denied with misrepresentation.

Again, it's possible that CIC didn't discover that you were refused entry to the US when they did the security/background check. It's also possible they haven't completed all of their security/background checks. Unfortunately I don't know which it is. All you can really do at this point is wait.

Yes - I've seen people refused for this reason. Every six months or so we see someone in the family class section get refused for failing to decared this type of information. When it's discovered, misrepresentation is taken very seriously by CIC.

Last week, I received an email from the CIC.
They asked me to send them an updated letter of acceptance from the school in Canada.
I don't know why they process my application too long. But now they ask me to support more document as my old admission has expired.
Do anyone in this forum know that my situation has become better or not?
Please give me some advice.

Don't worry bout it if i get u correctly you were denied usa visa in 2007 but you managed to travel later on after some years so don't worry it if Usa could give you a visa then you are fine but if you were issued then later on denied then you could have some reason to worry
