Hi All,
I am a Canadian citizen currently filling out the spousal sponsorship forms,
but I have what may seem like a silly/weird question:
I came to Canada at age 12 with my family (father, mother, brother). None of us were Canadian residents/citizens at the time.
I assume that I came as my father's "dependent child" and he applied for immigration through the skilled workers category.
Does this mean that I was sponsored by him to come to Canada?
Or does the fact that I came with them as a dependent differ from being sponsored since we all emigrated to Canada together, without waiting for my father to attain the Canadian citizenship status first?
(There is a question in IM5540 that says "were you yourself sponsored to come to Canada?")
Unfortunately, due to family conflict I cannot ask him this myself.
