I have signed a contract with a new employer starting 8th of August. Despite telling them i have pgwp that is expiring but it is expected to be extended according to the IRCC, they gave me the job. Now it is on the verge of expiring (30th of July). I am currently out of Canada for vacation. I'm thinking of just entering as a visitor. What is my option???

Do you have a valid TRV (in addition to the PGWP)? If so, then you should certainly be able to re-enter as a visitor.

i dont, but i am eligible for eta. Can i get it?

In that case yes, you can re-enter on the eTA. Of course this will only allow you to enter as a visitor. You won't be able to work.
