Hey everyone, so today we got an email saying we could link our application to our online account and we got that all done! Now my question is, does this mean that sponsorship has been approved? Or does that come after linking the application? I'm a little confused about the timeline.

Did you get an AOR yet which would be your sporship approval and would,d have a file number in it and a client ID? If so you can link it which will then give you updated info on your file. Without the numbers you will not be able to link.

Our file was sent to Havana on Jan 16th but there has been no correspondence since the the sponsorship approval? How long does it usually take for the medical request.
I tried linking the application last week but after 5 unsuccessful attempts each day for three days i gave up and sent an email but I have had no response to that either.
I know its all a waiting game but a very frustrating one for sure!!! with anyone elses experience what is the time line i should realistically be hopeful for?? I think our application is pretty straight forward...over two years together before we got married so lots of proof of relationship. Also, if an interview is requested will that be done before the medical or after? Can it be done on the same day to save my husband an extra 7 hour drive to Havana?
Sorry for all the questions but im just feeling like the wait is never ending

Not sure about new process but once completed the medical it goes to Trinidad / Tobago for review and then results are sent to Havana ... atlest I believe this was the way when medicals had to be done prior to submitting . Our file took 57 days in Canada as that was the processing time last May when I applied . Havana statues processing our file July 29 and oct 31 we got the email saying visa was approved and to pick it up November 9 ( no interview ). According to our file notes our visa was approved September 21 but security checks didn't come back till oct 25 and they emailed us the 31 of oct !
Good luck !

Thanks for your relpy...our file went to Havana on Jan 16th. My husbands crimminal record check has already been sent in. Besides the sponsership approval this is the first correspondance from anyone from immigration. Just trying to be hopeful that maybe the medical request is a good sign of things speeding up alittle.
Do you mean your application only took four months in Havana before approval?

It took 3 months almost to the day from when it arrived in Havana . I only got one email saying they had our file July 29 in Havana and then an email oct 31 saying to come pick up visa November 9 it was 5 months total from start to finish when it left my hands , 2 months in Canada , 3 months in Havana ! We had to do the medical prior to submitting the file

He has adjusted so well in the last 5 months . He arrived November 21 . I'm so proud of him everyday ! He has really embraced life here. We have adjusted well together but say often we are glad we lived together in cuba for 3'months prior to marriage as it really seemed to help and we already had an idea
Of what it was like to live together , even though it was there . I wish you all the best , keep positive !!! It will happen

Yesterday there was a message left on my cell phone voicemail from a woman who said she was calling from the Havana embassy. She knew my husbands full name and said that there were missing documents from his application. The woman did not leave a name or phone number for me to return the call so this morning I called the only missed number ( and the number attached to the information on the voicemail mesage) and it was a private residence that had nothing to do with immigration. The woman said she was calling from Havana but it was a 613 area code which is Ottawa.
So im confused ,our application is linked online but there is nothing new since the medical request...Has anyone experienced something like this? Im worried not that something is missing but I have no idea who to call to find out??

Not sure what you mean . I filled under the old system on May 27 2016 . My husband was issued visa without interview 3 months after it was received in Havana . It took 57 days in Canada for me to be approved as a sponsor which was the wait time in Canada at the time .

Luckily my husband was in in Havana doing his medical so he went to the embassy to speck to someone. They are saying that they want new papers because the paper application is in pen?? ( even though all the additional information/ answers are typed) they handed him a price of paper with a list of the ones they wanted. So of course I got online and filled them out and sent it now they are telling me it is not the right ones. I understand that they want a new schedule A but to again want the list of people at the wedding and details that would not have changed in the last five months is very frustrating.
My application is linked inline so I don't understand why they have not attached the requested documents through that.
Needless to say I am very frustrated and can't seem to get any answers from Havana or even immigration here in Canada.
