Have you received the passport request yet?

If not, that would be the next hurdle, and usually that comes a couple months after the RPRF fee is paid.

You might want to check your GCMS notes in a couple of weeks to verify they have noted that the RPRF has been paid.

Thanks for the reply :)

No, they didn't request the passport. Ohhh I thought this was the final hurdle. I guess not. What is GCMS? Sorry I'm SUPER new.

The application status online still says: application received.

Global Case Management System (GCMS)

To request GCMS notes, use the CIC website process at the following link:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp

All the information you need is on the website. You must be in Canada to make the requests. It's pretty straight forward.

If requesting on behalf of a spouse applying to immigrate from outside Canada, you will need the signed consent form to release information to you. Also available on the website.

here is the utube video that explains what to do:

NEW UPDATE on our application!

Today I checked online and our status has changed from Application Received to Application IN PROCESS. It says they began processing on August 20, 2014.

So I suppose now the next step is that my husband will be requested to present his passport at the embassy to receive the visa/go for an interview?

Any ideas on the timeline for that?

Thanks,

MRSCHULA

It's hard to say. The updating on the website can be sporadic at best. Does it say that your medical results were received?

I got SA in August and the online status for my husband says application received as of June 12th but my husband got a call from the Embassy requesting more docs a couple weeks ago so they must've been looking at it.

I have heard it's about 4 months once it hits Cuba but you just never know. :(

yes, medical results have been received since May 27, 2014 actually because we submitted the medical right away.

About 2 weeks ago they called my husband requesting a few more things, as well as the RPRF and we submitted everything they asked for.

Now I see IN PROCESS, I am very very hopeful!

That's exciting!! I would be very hopeful too!! It sounds like something is happening! :D

Does anyone know the answer or have been through a similar situation
I sent my application in to CIC Mississauga and received a letter requesting for an additional document before being approved
I sent the additional document and i am now waiting for a response.. I sent it last Monday
Does anyone know how long it usually take to receive a response after submitting additional documents? I thought I saw someone say between 1-2 weeks

Sometimes this means you start the timeline count again. It's hard to know for sure. Nothing seems to be written in stone when it comes to them requesting more info and how long it takes for them to process. :(

Nope. She has to be 18 or under and can't be married. She will have to immigrate to Canada on her own merit.

Hi

Thank you. I thought so.

Hey Y'all...

I was just reading some earlier posts in this thread to try and figure out whats the time frame between when you get "in process" to having a visa... I didn't find what I was looking for but I did notice something about the medical exam..

We did the medical Sept 25, 2013. That day is coming really close, which is when the medical expires. If he doesn't have his visa/interview by then will he be asked to re-do the medical?!?! Thats kind of what I gathered from the previous posts in the thread, but could things have changed? Those posts were from 2012...

Also, of course my original question is how much longer waaaa?

I booked a 1 week trip to Cuba October 27 but I am hoping he will be here and I won't have to use it.

That is awesome!!! :P
Best of luck mrschula!! ;D

Thank you justagirrl!

The only catch is that his criminal record is expired, and he has to apply for a new one. The fastest we have ever gotten it was in 14 days...he has exactly 7 days until he has to be in Havana. What do we do?!? He lives super far, in Holguin, 700 km from Havana...
