These medicals are electronic now. All they need is the number on it and they enter it in their system to pull it out. Did he go give bring his original medical paper to the embassy? This is what I was told to do and what I did.

is it possible for CIC to loose or misplace or misfile medical results? It seems that my husbands son's medical results are misplaced. Hubby was called today telling him that he can go to Havana on Feb 19 to receive the Visa. He must sign a waiver saying that a medical was not done. When in fact the medical was done Nov 15/16.

Woooo hoooo! Finally! That's great news!! Is he excited?! Or worried about the medical thing for his son. Did you keep a copy of the sheet that came with the medical by any chance?

Did you say at one time you were held up by the lack of MDs in Havana doing medicals? You would've been done sooner if it wasn't for that? Or was that someone else on this forum?!

Anyway...CONGRATS!!!!!

I have emailed the Visa Office the receipts of the son's medical. Yes we are both elated, yet troubled by this response by the Embassy clerk. My husband told the clerk that he will not sign the waiver, and for the Embassy to find the medical results....
ps... it wasn't me that discussed the lack of MDs in Havana.

Make sure he lets them know the medical was done. I'd e-mail them back BEFORE he goes (include details on the date, name of Panel Physician, any documentation you have). It's VERY important. You don't want them to exclude his son from future family class applications because they think he wasn't examined (that may be the 'waiver' they are talking about which could have serious repercussions if you ever want to sponsor his son, e.g., if circumstances change).

ETA: I see the response you added while I was typing. E-mail them or send a case specific enquiry to have a paper trail on this important fact for future reference (you want it to go into his record).

I have emailed the Visa Office the Medical Receipts, my husband will NOT be signing any waiver. Maybe I should call my MP ?

Give them a chance to link up the medical exam. They probably have the results already. The key is to make sure he knows not to sign the form, which it sounds like you know (and thus I assume he knows too). It stinks that this has cropped up when you are so close to the finish line, but the medical is probably done and reviewed already. The VO just needs to reach out to the RMO (Regional Medical Office) to get the results and you'll be all set. Every so often they have issues locating the exam (e.g., typo somewhere along the way prevents it from pulling up with name search) but they can cross reference based on Panel Physician information so it should be pretty quick.

I rarely pop in this thread so please don't hesitate to PM me to make sure I see any message.

My husband did both, his full name, then his official signature beside it

Hi

Does Havana require the original passport and identity card when we send in the sponsorship application?

for the Havana Visa Office, a photocopy of the Passport is fine, i didn't submit a copy of the ID card

Do you have the Checklist for Cuban Citizens? you should follow it

Hi
Yes I have the list but it says send the originals which kind of bothered me as he needs the ID for everything he does on a normal day.

Note: If you are a Cuban national, you must send originals of all documents, unless otherwise instructed.
These will be returned to you after a decision has been made on your application. If your
documents are not in English or French, send a notarized (certified) translation with a copy of the
originals.
