Have a blast Localola!! xox

I feel rather stupid....I have heard you all talk about spreadsheets for our timelines. Is there somewhere I go to view these. I have been checking all over and find nothing. Sorry but would appreciate the help.

Hi Greeneyes,

I think its only in Sassy's signature at the bottom, so its best if you save it to your bookmarks! But heres the link!! :)

We are right on par with Sassy and Localola as our papers have been in Havana since December 10th. Should have asked to be added. So the 3 of us wait together. Fingers crossed for soon, some kind of notice.

Happy Monday everyone; hubby arrived safe and sound...even though he almost didn't make the flight. He was at immigration in Cuba about his passport and they didn't tell him he needed to pay to update. He got to the airport (thank god 3.5 hrs early) and they told him he wouldn't be able to fly today as he needed his passport validated and offices close at noon. This was after 11. Somehow by some miracle he was able to get everything done; was back at the airport 1:57 p.m. for his 2:30 flight. They rushed him thru saying he was the luckiest man in Cuba...
Hard to believe he's been here since Thursday. He's adapting so well...We spent 6 hours walking in the snow Friday. Visiting people and places. He had his first canadian burger and steak...Enjoying the canadian beer. He shoveled the snow in the driveway. He's off to the Consulate with a Cuban friend to get a new passport (expires in June).
Tomorrow we'll get the SIN card. Have to check out the driver's license also.
Hope people waiting for the calls get them soon.
:-* :-*

We are a little sad to read the status of my son's sponsorship of his wife. Although we have documentation from Havana stating that they had the file on December 10, 2012, we checked tonight and it states begin processing February 5, 2013. That means it sat in Havana for two months before anyone even looked at it. Maybe that is what usually happens but we were led to believe by our consultant that they began processing on December 10th. I wonder how long it will take them now that they actually began processing.

Okay I have been reading more on this forum...wealth of information here..It seems this is regular process. Now that it is actually in process maybe we will hear something soon. Fingers crossed

Good Evening, well after thinking and letting it sink in, I am here to say WE GOT THE CALL on Friday the 8th. Hubby is going to be there for a final review (no interview) to pick up his visa. I am so happy and finally not in denial this is happening. Thank you so much to everyone who listened and responded to all my concerns. You guys are a great bunch :P :-*

OMG...I am sitting here right now with tears in my eyes. My D.I.L. got the call from the Embassy this morning. We have not received email confirmation of this yet through our consultant. She asked what she needs to bring and they said just her passport. She is to be at the Embassy on Thursday, February 21, 2013 first thing in the morning. She is travelling from Santa Clara so I told her to go the day before and stay in a casa. My son is so happy and this weekend will be quickly starting the closet clean-out to make room for his beautiful wife. We are heading down with our son to bring her back as soon as she gets that visa and we are able. I can't wait to see her face as she lands in Canada. We have only known her for two and a half years but we love this girl so much. As a mother I know how hard this will be for her parents in Cuba as they are very close. We made a promise to them that we are all family now and we will take care of their girl.

What a great week for this forum.... :-* :-* :-* :-*

We are looking at flights to bring her back if all goes well next Thursday.
Question for anyone who can answer. As long as she has her visa, passport with upgraded stamp is she good to go? Perhaps going into the immigration office in Santa Clara just to ask might be an option so that we have no surpries at the airport. Any thoughts?
