I work in a casual position so that I can take time off when I want. The downside is my pays are not always full time and I suffer .... lol I really need to take a position again, but trying so hard not to until he his here. I want to be able to go to the interview. In my profession, they couldn't care less why I wanted a week off, I wouldn't get it. Politics in healthcare is the worst.

I'm hoping I dont' have to make many more trips. What seems to be the timeline for getting interviews?? I'm hoping I only have to go back one more time for a month, but I think that's being too optimistic!!

So I am going to go by my timeline and luvcuba's....Shuster2210 should have been next but apparently they said there was a missing date on her app when there wasn't so that threw her off schedule....so between my time line and luvcuba I would think this is yours...assuming no missing info (although it wasn't missing-they just didn't bother to read it on shuster's app):

June 26 - app filed
August 30 - approval
Received in Havana approximately on September 20th (seems to be a 3 week transfer time)
Approximately 8-10 weeks after Havana receives you get a call if all is ok......that would put you around November 15-29th.....so within the next month.....

So I am thinking your hubby is going to have a phone call before you even get there on December 17th!!!!

Dec 18 to Jan 2.....should be hearing from Havana!!!

So DDG.....you should still be there if you are staying for at least a month when Havana calls!!!! Wouldn't that be awesome......

Yup my file was transfered Oct 2. My husband told me he ran into a friend from Havana that works for the government, must be Immigration, bc he told him that things are moving really fast in Canadian Embassy and he should expect a call end of December. He also told him not to contact them for anything and wait for them to contact him bc it does slow it down....I prefer to go with the stats though, so lets hear them KJG!!

YAY!! That would be great. But his daughters medical expired this month. I know this will hold us up. But hopefully they will request it when I am there and we can go to Havana together to have it done, visit some Canadian family, go to the parks, take photos for immigration...lol I swear I cant wait to put down my camera... Hero Members on threads told me I can't have her medical done until they request it, bc it's gets set back seperate or something. Is this true do you know? I just hope it doesn't tie us up too long.

yes.....do not get a medical until they ask...that way nothing gets mixed up or pulled.......they also might grant an extension on it......what they will do is call --- do the interview ---tell him yes to leave his passport.....go get the new medical and then the visa will be issued.......it won't hold it up that long.....and in the meantime you know he will have his visa shortly!!!!

If they do call I should just stay....but I'm potentially starting a position and orientation is 4 weeks starting mid January. It's VON and I work for them now doing flu clinics til mid December but seems stupid to even come back for 3 weeks. See my work dilema!! :-\

yes usually 3 weeks to 4 weeks notice.......when they call he might be able to ask them if he could come sooner cause you were there and wanted to come and you will be leaving on such and such a date.....they are pretty accommodating........

Agreed with both of you!! Im pretty lucky in the sense that were closed 2 weeks at xmas, and then I get 3 wks paid vacay apart from that per year because ive been there for 6.5 years... but I wish I had more flexibility! Once that time is up, thats it thats all!! Plus I have to go when kids are off from school, so xmas, march break, and summer break... which is the most expensive times of year... but I guess we all do what we can!!

Check in was great, their scales were for sure broken, said I was 5kg underweight which we all know is not true lol
Didn't even weigh my carry on (over weight) or "purse" (7kg)
So this is an awesome start to the trip!!!

Sending everybody mucho Amor and gracias for all the support!!!

I'm hoping that by the time I come home we will have word from the embassy.
My friend will be checking all the emails so we can stay on top of everything.
