Thanks DDG. I know I'm almost at the end; and I should be thankful; for which I am; but honestly I am getting so impatient. Married for 13 months and still alone. We're not getting any younger. I think my hubby and I are the oldest on this forum; 40's-50's.

I'm praying that soon we'll all be united with our loves. That will definitely call for a celebration.

Luvcuba I'm stressed now because they asked you for proof that you had been back since you filed app. I have not been back since May when I returned and filed the app in July. I should have went in August. but I have so much going on it's almost impossible We talk every night on Facebook and I call alot. We text. Do you think that counts for something? This summer my grandmother died, my son quit university and moved home depressed, and I lost my job... I started a new job but now it's harder to get away... ugh....fml. Sometimes I don't think I can make it... I am so depressed. I am out of cash...........................and still have so far to go. I just want to be there so much.

DDG I too really think that you have VERY valid reasons for having not been back since May. As others have said....you just need to show proof of a continuing relationship. It is completely understandable that one does not always have the funds to travel so often. Really I think this is not something to worry about. Try to stay strong. hugs

Luvcuba.....you are almost there....try your hardest to keep the positive thinking and forget about the negative. You and your hubby both still have so much time to enjoy together. My heart is breaking for everyone on here. I know the struggles I have faced (am facing) and the stress. Seeing (hearing others) going through it too is breaking my heart. It is so hard to convince a stranger (or new friends : P ) that everything will be good in due time. I truly believe in the power of positive thoughts....and when a group of strong women can come together and focus their energy on positive thoughts and outcomes for each other the results will be amazing. I know the loneliness is hard. I'm late to this medical issue. But definitely don't just go out and get a new medical, I know somebody who did this, trying to be proactive, and it messed up their file. You need to get an envelope with a bar code at the Canadian embassy for a 2nd medical so it relates back to your file. When my husband went for his interview his medical had 1.5 months left on it. They said we could take the visa that day but that they highly recommended redoing the medical as if the medical expired before he left the country the visa expires and there is no recourse. The immigration officer said if there is 2 months or less on the medical they counsel folks to do the new medical to avoid the risk. We chose to do the new medical, thank goodness, as it took another 5 months to get his baja and 1 month to get his pve.

I have heard of a lot of people needing new medicals post-interview, I've never heard of anyone's medical just being extended. When we did it they gave us the option of paying $50 for DHL (the results go back and forth to Port-of-Spain, Trinidad) which cut the wait time to 20 days. The mutual friend of PSandy and I who had to do it in Sept was told DHL was no longer available and that the wait was 40-50 days.

I think the one thing you could do is contact the embassy and try to get that envelope pre-interview so the medical is in process and the wait time isn't as long.

I missed this earlier.... thanks for this. Now... I know I'm going to be in this situation with the baby, but not for my hubby. I wonder how long hers will take bc hers was different from his bc of her age.

I hope you got some sleep....it will be okay DDG....we are here for you and will support you as much as we can via words and positive thoughts...stay strong.......it is so very hard on our men as well ....that their hands are tied in a way we can only imagine.....

Update Ladies: My husband went to immigration yesterday and handed everything in....they told him to come back on November 5th and the PRE should be issued!!!!! Fingers crossed that the lady wasn't just talking and/or just throwing out dates!!!!

I hope it is right though....I am worried about all the horror stories I hear and his visa expires Dec 26th so I feel as if I don't have a lot of time......and did I mention I will have to leave him a week in December when my daughter gets married in Punta Cana I have checked and re-checked and no way to safely have him leave Canada again and re-enter without a PR card. He would need a letter from the Canadian Consulate in the DR....which is about a 6 hour drive from where we will be and the letter takes a minimum of a week to prepare so we cannot do this So I feel like my time is limited because I want him here a few weeks before I take off again........!!!

Fantastic news. So he should arrive by mid November. Have you booked his flight or are you going down to come back with him. So happy for you.

yes I plan on going down on a friday and coming back on the sunday....I am not going to book the flight until he has the pre in hand...just don't trust the government in general.....LOL.....really hoping for Nov 16th to be on my way!!!!
