You will get your client ID – also known as your UCI – once you have applied to CIC. This eight digit number appears on all documents you get ...

Hi, quick question. I have been looking at our application over and over. I have two different sections. One has two status's and one has three status's on my application...

Sponsorship Application Process:
1. We received your application to sponsor xxxxxxxx on February 29, 2016.
2. We started processing your application on March 24, 2016.

and...

Permanent Residence Application Status:
1. We received xxxxxxxxxx application for permanent residence on February 29, 2016.
2. We started processing xxxxxxxxxx application on April 19, 2016.
3. Medical results have been received.

And my husband's file says this...

Permanent Residence Application Status:
1. We received your application for permanent residence on Feb. 29, 2016.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on April 19, 2016.
3. We started processing your application on April 19, 2016.
4. Medical results have been received.

My main questions are, was the processing of his file started in Havana on April 19? I received correspondence on April 14 stating our file had been sent to Havana but nothing stating it had arrived or opened in Havana. Once everything is in Havana, do they continue to update every Tuesday? Or just when they feel like it? Does anyone else have any other insight about the info listed on our online file? Thanks in advance.

Once your file gets to Havana gets worked and some agents update Ecas and others do not . I would suggest you wait awhile and than order GCSM notes as there would be information in there regarding the progression of your application. Following is some good advise about notes.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE REQUESTING YOUR GCMS

For those who want to know when to request their GCMS notes, I would say to do it 4-5 months after Sponsor has pass his/her eligibility. Why do I come up with this vague guess? GCMS notes have shown me that when Sponsor get his/her AOR; PA's PAPER FILE might take up to 2 weeks to arrive to the embassy for processing. Don't get me wrong, it could also take 5 days if the Canadian mission is not far from RC-9570. lf I said 2 weeks that is the maximum so there is no need to stress out about this. Now GCMS Notes have also revealed that the moment your paper file arrive to the embassy within 1 or 2 business day(s) it will be opened by an officer who need to receive it and check if an e-file(GCMS) has been created under your name and sponsorship is passed then He/She will tag your paper file and give it a BF'D of 3-4 months. If there is no backlog at the embassy it might be picked up earlier than planned but a lot of people I have helped theirs showed between 3-4 months. So the best time to order your GCMS file will be at least 5 months after SA. If you are impatient you can still order yours 3 months after SA but there will be nothing inside the egg since it was recently laid.

They are saying that they sent correspondence to your husband on April 19. Depending on how you marked on the forms, your husband should have received an email or a letter.

On April the 6th it had said they started to process the application (in havana). I had sent the medical exam at the back of the application in a folder so it would not get bent and i posted a note "medical exam inside this folder". I have not heard anything about them saying they have the medical exam. I have looked it over on my application and nothing about is on there. Aswell it does not say anthing about sending a correspondence acknowledging letter to my husband. You say you also checked your husbands file. How do you check your husband file? I don't know what's happening.

My husband got an email telling him about his file but it was also sent to me. It has a different number, but only by one number. So I went on the CIC website and put in his info and saw his file. He gave me permission to do this.
