Wondering for those who have recieved requests for new schedule A and/or proof of permanent residence fee payment, at what point in the process did they request it?

Hey April.

Three months after our file was in Havana they requested an updated Schedule A (Going back one additional year), and they asked us to pay the PRF. They requested it via phone call to my husband.

Thanks for the reply. Hubby was requested for new schedule A after about 2 weeks in havana, as well to make sure the rprf was paid. Thought it was quick and good news, but trying not to get our hopes up too much...

We were asked for a new schedule A after 2 months in Havana along with a letter describing my husbands relationship with his children's mother. That was in June. We are impatiently waiting for the call/email!

New schedule A: please note that question 8 must be completed since September 1979 up to present without gaps.

Schedule A question 8 must be competed without any gaps whatsoever for the past 10 YRS or since PA's age of 18 (whichever is greater) as clearly indicated. My spouse wasn't even born in 1979 lol. Make no miss take about it that CIC documents are stringent and must be followed to a "T" but also quite clear.

Cheers

Did anyone try to apply for a temporary resident visa while the sponsorship process was in progress? I am trying to do that online and I am not sure if I read correctly one of the eligibility questions: "Have you had a medical exam performed by a CIC authorized panel physician (doctor) within the last 12 months?" If you answer No to this question, they do not require any medical proof. If you say Yes, they ask you for the medical exam... What does that mean: that after we paid once for the medical exam (part of the sponsorship application), even if the results are still valid (we are within the last 12 months), we need to pay again for that exam, now for the tourist visa? And being not very likely that we can get that tourist visa, the money will be lost. As long as the e-cas states very clearly that the medical results have been received... they may be two different departments working on these two applications, but still it seems strange to be asked again to pay that amount of money for something that they already have in their system.

Just wondering if anyone else had to deal with this situation.

My advice to you would be to Not bothering applying for a visitor visa. Many including myself have applied and no one I am aware (and there are many) have ever been approved. Not only will you be wasting your time and money you may also compromise your current application process. Against the advice of others I did as well (before we were married or I had applied already for the permanent visa) and wished I had listened to them afterwards.

To each there own.

I applied 3 times for visitor's visa for my spouse and was obviously denied each time. Every time explaining in long letters why it was important that my spouse visits me here in Canada. I think spouses get denied by default.

What document did you attach regarding the medical exam?

The main reason Cuban spouses are denied visitor visas is because of the wet food dry foot policy

My husband's Schedule A was requested about a month after my AOR and all of the fees were paid upfront for us.

Amazing that there seems to be absolutely no consistency to this process.
