I have a friend who is Cuban. She moved here about a year ago and her hubby invited her mom and dad. They both were granted super visas for 5 years. In and out as they please. Only catch is that every 6 months they have to go back to Cuba and come back. ;) appearantly it was very easy and not expensive.

I would love to know more about this super visa. Do you know what information they provided? Ties to Cuba assets, job etc. my husband will be so happy to know his family will be able to visit often :-)

They told me it was súper easy and they juat has to prove ties to cuba .... Money un the bank, a job, property owned and maybe even a stable income (you and your hubby sending money back once a month?) She said she got an answer in a week. BUT your incomes are important to becauae remember you need to support their stay as they cannot work.

I will try and find a link for where they applied. Send me a PM with ur email I will send u what/i have!/

That's what I thought originally, but all the package included was arranging for the notary, Not the fees to get the marriage certificate. We had to pay the wedding planner 400 and the notary office 800. The notary was cash only at the notary's office before the wedding.. The wedding planner i put on out hotel tab and paid it when we checked out.

I second this and also YHYY, as everyone else mentioned, be sure to tell the resort you are marrying a Cuban because it will most likely not be included. My wedding had to be a "spiritual ceremony" at the resort and we went to the notary office in varadero and actually got married the morning before our ceremony. They would've come to the resort to do it but that would be an extra $125cuc. Our fees were cash $625cuc + 125cuc for the official "stickers" and then another $30cuc or so when my husband had the marriage cert legalized in Havana a month later.

It must be Tuesday!! Ecas is running super slow... I wish it was because CIC is busy updating (my) application status, but my status has not change, and I bet the slowness is due to everyone checking ecas for an update LOL. Until next Tuesday....

How does this Ecas thing work exactly? I'm about to order my notes. Once u pay the $30 does that give u access to the notes during the entire process?

Actually I prob won't be able to order notes if CIC has STILL not processed my application right?

You need to have the immigration file number in order to order the notes. It is only $5. You also need your hubbs signature on the consent form because you are technically ordering his notes. I ordered mine almost a month ago....still waiting. It's only good for one time so once you receive them, you can spend another $5 and order them again to get them in another month. (You would need a new consent form as well(!!!)) You can't overlap orders either or they would just merge it into one set of notes and keep your extra $5.

They are def not in a rush to get me my notes. I ordered Nov 6th and.....still waiting... >:(

So they have 1 more day to get me my GCMS notes on time. Anyone want to place bets that I'm not going to get them? >:(

holy... they are cutting it close - any news yet? maybe they are not doing the notes because they are following up on your file?

i had a dream my friends and family suprised me with him coming to canada...
in my dream he kissed me to wake me up!! i then woke up to my alarm blowing in my ear!!!!!! it felt so real - its safe to say i am miserable today!!!!!!

i wish someone would just have some news so it could tie me over!!

- LOVE TO ALL!

I'm half miserable and half excited cause I'm going to see my husband on Sunday! ;D

I'm just annoyed with this whole process.

Still no news on the notes I'm guessing?

Focus on the good half, and that you will be together soon!!!! I am so excited that there are only 22 more days before I get to see my husband. We don't have anywhere to stay yet, so instead of freaking out (which I did for a little while), I'm now thinking this is going to be an adventure!
