Re: Has anyone submitted transcripts NOT in university sealed envelopes n got th

his Visa office was New Delhi...

I would really recommend to send original transcripts, esp if they are from a country other than the Visa office.

but, it's your call...

then, wait for BobbyB and alice_chained to reply.. they are masters of the London office...

Well to be honest this is a tricky one,
. The checklist does mention that they have to be sealed. But the checklist is also a guideline, and sometimes you will / won't have the requirements, like employment contracts etc..

But if the University is in the UK itself, and their policy is not to issue transcripts in a sealed envalope, then you can write a cover letter explaining the situation. If you have an email from the university saying that they can't provide sealed transcripts then you can give that in as well. With the transcripts and a notarised copy of your degree.

i don't think it will be a problem since the university is in the UK itself, they need the transcipts only to confrim whether the program you studied was a 4 year program, or 2year, or 1 year to establish the 14 years of study.

They will most probbaly call the university and confrim with them since it's in the UK.

thanks alice for ur detailed reply, well at last I ve got a response from my university .They r going to provide me a letter confirming my study duration and explaining to CIC , why they are unable to provide original transcripts in sealed envelope. However I m thinking of getting my original degree attested by British council n sending the copy to CIC.Will it be sufficent to satisfy CIc,Whts ur opinion abt it ?

regards

That should be good enough.

British council attests degrees?? Yo ucan use the notary that will be good enough as well, they only need the notarization that someone has seen the orignal.

well i did call british council n they told me tht they attest original degrees from Uk universities,as currently I m not in UK so the notary commission of my current residence will might ask me to get tht first attested by british embassy or so.Thts wht I m assuming.

If your UNI is from London (UK), then I'd advise you not to take chances and try and get the Transcripts.
I see no reason why you should not be able to get transcripts from any university in London. They all give as many as you want.
In fact there are universities that have so called "eStores" on the web from where you can order and get the transcripts.

By the way which university did you graduate from?
