Has anyone had bad experience with Canadian Tire for installing Daytime Running Lights (DRL)?

I read on this forum that Canadian Tire does a pretty horrible job, and some people have seen some weird side effects like headlights staying on:

I called the dealership in Windsor, and it's asking for $450+tax, which I think is too expensive.

Has anyone had good experience with 3rd party mechanics in Windsor when it came to DRL?
Canadian Tire is just one of those places you use if you’re absolutely desperate, like desperate to have work done on your vehicle.

lol
I see. So I'll have to shop around for DRL installation?
I'm actually trying to see if anyone has a 3rd party mechanic that they recommend.

I too spent the same/similar as canadiantire was not ready to do it. So call the London dealership as it was less for me to go to London than in Windsor hence try London dealership.

Welp, the London dealership rings up the same price at around $500 (including tax), so I think it'll just have to look for a mechanic's shop in Windsor.

After installing DRL, does the dash (the speedometer, rpm meter, etc.) light up automatically?

1. No change on anything except that switching head lights will still be on. So you wont see any change visually inside and you can only notice it from the outside headlights.

Moving to Windsor is such a headache
