Hand carrying gemstones and Jewellery

I would like to know if anyone has tried carrying gemstones and jewellery into canada . I've searched online relating go gems and jewellery I was unable to find any .

Please let me know if I could hand carry the goods and declare it airport and go , or will I need other requirements.
