Hi - Has anyone submitted documents to Ottawa Consulate recently and waiting for CEAC status change? It has been 8 business days for me and no update

Hi All,

This thread has been very helpful. Please find the below timelines for H1B renewal(previous sticker issued in India) via drop box at US Consulate, Toronto:

March 17th: Fees Paid on AIS Portal, Placed in Virtual Queue. Paid Premium return delivery fees also.
March 20th: Got Email instructions to send documents.
March 21st: Document sent via Canada Post
March 25th: Documents delivered.
From March 25th to April 3rd: No Status on CEAC Portal. AIS portal same old status "Send Documents".
April 4th: CEAC- Application Received, AIS- Same old send documents.
April 7th: CEAC- Approved. AIS- Same old send documents.
April 9th: CEAC- Issued. AIS- Same old send documents.
April 10th: Passport dispatched. Email Received with Purolator Tracking#.
April 11th: Passport delivered.

@jitheshani and @indianguy_toronto , did you get stamped for h1b only or h4 as well (if you applied for).
for all in the thread: my spouse is pr too , is she eligible for renewal dropbox too? anyone have done h4 renewal dropbox as well before or after jan 2025? please share your experiences

@zoh7009 : I just did for H1 only. In my opinion your spouse should be eligible too if she meets all the other criterion same as primary applicant. But I'll let other experts throw some light, who might have done for themselves.

I have an expired H-1B visa in my passport with Company A's name. However, after expiration I changed to Company B with a new I797 and a H-1B transfer petition. Do you think I will have to schedule a personal interview?

Ok. They should just update the questionnaire to reflect this criterion for Dropbox. Almost 20 days were wasted for me. Did you get a 221 when your passport was returned due to Dropbox ineligibility?

I renewed my wife's H-4 visa by mail in December 2024. She is a Canadian PR. No issues.

It was refused. They asked me to come for in-person interview. I work for a product based company. Last visa was also from the same company. They didn't ask for any specific doc in the email.

Toronto. Its was still valid and would expire end of May

Hi All,
Did anyone in this group used alternate Postal/courier services like FedEx /UPS/DHL to drop the documents within Canada ? AIS stopped using Canada post from May 5 due to incoming possible strike.

Also appreciate anyone sharing their most recent timelines here please
