Thanks PaToAb,

I called Bank of America to get these details(I used a Cashier Check from BOFA). However, they were unable to provide any details on the file #. The only thing they could tell from their system was if the the check was encashed and if yes, when.

Are you aware of any other way to get the file #?

Thanks for your help.

Sorry for late reply.

I used Bank Check (Citizens Bank) to make a payment. Once your check is cashed, your bank can print you a copy of the check they received from CIC. On the back of the check, cic puts a bar code with file number of the person. File number starts with B and 9 digits after that.

Call your bank and tell them you want a copy of the check. It may typically cost you $3 for a check copy. You'll get the copy by mail and the file number will be on it.

Thanks Manny, I was wondering if the copy of the check sent by mail is the same as the copy of the check details that appears online. In the online version I don't see the file number details. I am thinking even if I request the check copy by mail, that might be the same as the online version.

Have you had a similar case as in did u submit Cashier's Check from Bank of America?

Thanks a lot for your help,
canadavasi

Hi,

One thing you must consider is calling the State Police Department before applying for PCC. And I am glad I did that with GA. Police Department in GA does not accept the FBI fingerprinting card that can be downloaded from the FBI website. The reason given to me is that they cannot use them in their FP reading machine. I was told that I will need to go to local Sheriff Office to obtain them. But keep in mind not always the Sheriff Office is willing to give them out. In that case you can request GA Police to post them to you. I received the blank FP froms from them in 3 days.

For more information on PCC for GA, please call Marina at 404-270-8402 or email Marina.Fox @ gbi.ga.gov

Thanks,

L.B

Im not sure. I could not see the canceled (meaning cashed) check online and when I asked BofA I was told that I should order the check. Typically if you can see the check online, it is the canceled check. So in your case not sure if you'd get any additional info. Just wait for AOR!

Question:

Is FBI sufficient? I have not stayed more than 6 months in other foreign country. Why are some people having state certificate done? In the website it states "The Visa Office will advise you if state certificates are required in your case"

Thanks

FBI and home country police certificates are sufficient at the time of application. However, some people who have lived in more than one US state for 6+ months see it fit to go ahead and get state certificates from the said states b4 they are requested in order to save time. CIC may not even request them but then again they don't penalize folks for sending them ahead of time. Don't worry about it if it does not apply to you.

Thanks for the reply. I have stayed more than 6 months in couple different states. I guess i should just start requesting them. I am worried though about the FBI taking 4 months. Dateline to submit is Dec 5th and i may have to ask extension from AINP ...

Hello Everyone,
Is it advisable to send the RPRF even if they didn’t ask about it yet? I've already sent my medical on first week of April.
Thx
