1. What are the requirements and necessary documents for applying for a visitor visa for a close relative?

1. Her parents should be the ones to apply, not you. They should follow the instructions and guide on the IRCC web site.
2. You can include an invitation letter.
3. Her parents can provide documents showing ties as part of the application.
4. There is no way to guarantee the application will be successful. To increase the chances, make sure her parents can show a strong enough bank balance to support her trip, keep her trip to a few weeks vs months. It will help if she has previously visited other countries requiring visas.

Just want to clarify that your niece can apply to visit you for a short visit. “Bring your niece to Canada” even on a visitor visa implies something else. You also didn’t post under the visitor thread and posted under general immigration so unclear what your true goals are.

Did you mean she can apply the tourist visa by herself? What I wanted to ask was, I being her uncle and a permanent resident of canada can sponsor her for Vistor visa or not ?

You can send a letter of invitation but as previously noted her parents need to help her apply and should also be supporting her financially. Would give a detailed description of her itinerary while in Canada and why she will return home.

E has travelled several times to different countries within Latin America, but doesn't have a US visa or has never visited any other country outside of the region.

M and I want to sponsor E to come to Canada. We know it's a difficult application given her lack of employment and travel history. This is what we thought to submit:

- Proof of relationship between the three of us.
- M's and my status in Canada.
- Proof of employment of E's husband. He will be the one sponsoring the flight ticket.
- Proof of employment of M and I. We will be the ones sponsoring her stay in Canada.
- 3-week trip to Canada. Summary of itinerary of things we'll do here.
- Proof of his son's enrollment in school (to support ties to her home country).

Any other suggestions to make the application stronger and increase the chances of approval?

Sponsor her for what? For TRV you aren’t sponsoring someone.

She needs to show her own funds (cash), ties to return (job letter with approved leave, business), family ties (son can be a tie), travel history and valid reasons to travel. Your status, employment and funds do not have to be considered. So in your list, I see none of her own documents other than son’s enrolment.

Your case is NOTHING similar to OP's. A minor getting visa to visit her uncle/aunt.

Visitor visa has NO sponsorship.
You can send an invitation letter. That's about it.

Your adult sister needs to show her own fund (her husband is the same as hers.. hopefully account she has access to).
Her husband and son are her tie to home country.
Itinerary is OK. But show enough fund and more for the whole trip. (accomodation, flight, food...etc)
So that she is not using her entire savings for a single trip.
