Good evening family

This is my time line from Uganda ( group five)

I started my process in November 2021, and I completed my medical interview and vaccination from September 2024 to October 2024 with a pass result( as immigration officer confirm congratulations) also pre arrival came Same time .
Additionally, one of my sponsors raised a concern about this delay and spoke to a member of parliament. After the complaint, he mentioned that he has written to the embassy about the issue.
After some week member of Parliament guy send to us my husband security checking progress.
It is normal taking this much time and what is the solution please?

IRCC says it is not finalizing applications from Uganda, South Sudan, or the Democratic Republic of the Congo at this time. IRCC specifically warns that applicants whose last country of residence was Uganda may experience processing times longer than the published estimates. I really hope you and your husband receive the final decision soon. After waiting since 2021, you definitely deserve some good news.

Yes, this kind of delay can happen, especially if security screening is still in progress. IRCC says privately sponsored refugee applications can take longer depending on the complexity of the case, the region, the number of applications, and how long security checks and medical requirements take.

Completing the medical and receiving pre-arrival information does not necessarily mean that all background or security checks are finished.

Since your application started in 2021 and you were told that security screening is still ongoing, the best official options are to keep checking your application status and send an IRCC web form if the case is beyond the normal processing time. IRCC also notes that additional web forms generally do not speed up processing.

The MP inquiry may help you obtain a status update, but it does not necessarily mean the application will be finalized faster.

Official IRCC guidance: privately sponsored refugee processing times and IRCC web form/status information.
