Hello! Please help. My mom and dad are greencard holder from the US. They intend to stay here for a month but decided to stay longer. They’re 6 months will be up on November. The Canadian Officer in the airport did not stamp their passport. Can they still extend their stay for more than 6 months? So they can spend chrismas and new year with us.
Thank you!

They can apply to extend their stay by applying for a visitor record. How long they are given will be up to IRCC. Make sure they include proof of funds (e.g. their bank account) to show how they will fund their continued stay in Canada.

thanks a lot! I was told by someone that they can't stay for more than 6 months because the OFFICER DID NOT STAMP THEIR PASSPORT so I was really confused. Do you happen to know how much they need? again thanks for the reply! i appreciate it!

That someone who told you that is completely ignorant and doesn’t know the actual rules.
