Hi,

I just landed in Vancouver yesterday :)
Although I am a native English speaker, I want to commit to my life in Canada by mastering both official languages. I noted on CIC's site for immigrants to Canada, it is noted that funded language classes are available for newcomers. (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/after-education-language.asp)

Does anyone in BC have experience with French classes in Vancouver? Do funded French courses exist this far West?

Good luck with this. I can't even get government French classes over here in Kingston, ON. :p Hopefully with Vancouver being a bigger city, you can find something. I hear one of Trudeau's plans is to make these more accessible for everyone. I hope he gets to it soon!

Another thing... try searching for a group at meetup vancouver. You will find plenty.
