I think this is passport request right brothers and sisters am i done? i haven' t received the hard copy through regular mail yet , Can passeport request be sent by E mail too? I believe it is PPR but i just can't believe my eyes ohhhhhhhhh my God!!!!!

How long ago did you submit your application? You are done with the interview/medicals and stuff? Was PPR the last thing you were expecting??

But wait, you might want to wait till other members/seniors respond back to you because I'm not sure if they send the PPR over an email or should you wait for an official document requesting your passport.!!??

hi ZAGALO

yesssss, it's a PPR !!!!! many congrats. now a days CHCs send PPR by e-mail to save time. u will never get a PPR by post if u have receiived PPR by e-mail. go to post office & send ur PP & wait for the maple leaf on ur PP. make sure all PPs have more than 6 months' validity.

could u share timeline & ur visa office with us?

That's super good news!!

By the way..The letter you received,did it state somewhere,that been asked for your passport does NOT necessarily mean visa issuance? Well, the one I got,was written to the effect that the asking of my passport,does not mean visa issuance. Is this a standard/Generic statement in passport requesting letters?

No tonnyinChina nowhere is written such sentence , well my letter is also a Computer generated letter they just inserted my file number and name plus the passport request sentence
my visa office is Beijing

Then yours is a PPR!! Congratulations!! I am applying via Beijing office,too. Nowadays, most applications via this office are been processed pretty fast! I did submit my passport like 3 months ago,still waiting for a decision.

TonnyinChinna please note that in November 2009 , i received a first passport request along with medicals but i didn' t submit at that time coz i had to go to my country i came back , did additional medicals on March 1st and sent an E mail to the visa office asking if i can now send my passeport they asked me to wait until they ask for my passport again , i have been waiting since then and i just received this mail resquesting it

Beijing office is holding your passport for 3 months already. Is this the norm?

Well Tran,
I think if Beijing office is holding his passport for so long it is likely because they asked him to submit it along with the medicals and at that time i guess the security checks may have not started and it is till they are done with the checks that they stamp PP and send back , this would have happened to me if i submitted my PP with my medicals in dec 2009 but since i had to travel , i didn' t send my PP at that time and later when i came back from my trip , i contacted the office to inquire if i could send my PP and they said that they will require it again when my application will be close to finalisation and that's what they just did yesterday...
