Got my visa!

Hey guys,

I got my visa, just wanted to share my profile so it might help future applicants. I had applied on 11th June in VFS ahmedabad and got it on 20th. I did have pre-meds done.

My profile: 10th-74%
12th-73%
IELTS-7.0 overall (L-8, R-7.5, W-6.5, S-6.5)
B.Tech and M.Tech from IIT Madras, cgpa:-7.51/10
Going to university of Alberta for MSc program. Got funding for 21000$ per annum.
Apart from financial and offer letter from university, I had shown my ITR (Form 16), last 3 months pay slip, 6 months bank statements, my flight ticket and government approved ID's of my family.

I am going to University of Ottawa. After a lot of thinking, I decided not to leave my field, MSc Petroleum from uAlberta was good but I shall continue in my field i.e. Mechanical Engineering so I am heading Ottawa. Just waiting for visa. You know the visa process here is pretty slow, having fingers crossed and praying for a quick positive response.

Hi, did you show your flight tickets? before get the visa?, this is good? possible? what happended if the embassy reject the visa?

M.Tech from IIT is course based and research component is pretty low in the curriculum, my need is to get some exposure in research and PhD is always an open option for me in future.

I had to book my flight tickets because the cost was going exorbitantly high but I was pretty sure that my visa will get approved. There is nothing wrong in showing your tickets, it just shows that you are more financially stable though its not a big deal for them.
