  • I have obtained AIP two days back. However, I'm still confused about to defer the program or to start the online for Fall intake. I have already passed the medical exam, just need to provide biometrics and police verification stuff. So on what basis they can refuse my 2nd stage approval? Can they refuse my 2nd stage on the basis of my eligibility to study abroad or something? Or 2nd stage just depends on biometrics and police records?

Only biometrics if you haven’t submitted not police records as police records are not needed for india as they are included in indian passport, Moreover the email you got was a standard template sent to many countries that’s why so no need of police records until asked in on your portal

They can only refuse on the basis of inadmissibility. Like a criminal record, or if they suspect you are a spy or a terrorist.

Also if you existing communicable disease like TB.

Else they wont refuse.

Or if they find documents are not genuine, or if change of circumstances would lead to refusal or if circumstances were not as claimed.

This is the bread and butter of being a visa officer. I definitely know more than you unless you're senior management in a visa issuing post.

It's not "fake news" to point out that any application can always be refused. Approval in principle is NOT a guarantee of second stage approval. You must continue to meet the requirements to be admissible to Canada as a student.

And it is certainly not ‘fake news’ that even with a study permit in hand that having a permit is not a right to enter Canada if deemed for some reason to be inadmissible by CBSA at the POE.

It is ‘ fake news’ for anyone to imply that a study permit cannot be refused or revoked at any time should requirements not continue to be met .
