Hey everyone, so I recently got the ITA under healthcare draw last week and I created my profile as non-accompanying spouse.

So I've got married on January and applied for SOWP in February which got rejected saying many reasons like financial and no tie to home country. So in March I was eligible for PR and I created my profile as non-accompanying. She is not with me in Canada, she is from India but works in Dubai right now. She was initially planning to come with me but when I add her my score goes really low and she is near a promotion in her current job . So she planned to stay for a year or 2 and gain more experience and I'll sponsor her later. That's what's our plan.

But seeing news about non-accompanying spouse files getting rejected a lot these days I'm kinda scared. What should I do? Can I move on with my current ITA? If I add her I will go below the current cut off. or should I decline my ITA?

If your spouse is in Dubai there is no issue. They are truly non-accompanying. The issue is when spouses are in Canada especially on SOWP yet listed as non-accompanying. Getting refused the SOWP has actually benefited you.

Thank you so much. Can you please answer few more questions. So I know she also needs her PCC and medicals. Does she needs to do her medicals upfront? I don't have to do it I think since I've already done in the last 5 years. So I'm confused in her case, should I just submit just mine and IRCC ask for her medicals or do I have to make her do upfront and submit along with mine?

And for my work experience in Canada, I've done 2 part time and I've completed more than required hours for sure. But how can I prove it tho? The documents I'm planning to provide are :
1. Employment letter stating I'm working 15h/week average
2. All my pay stubs but the hours are biweekly
3. T4 and NOA

Do I need anything else? Thanks

You don’t need a medical your spouse does. Would for the request because it is only valid for a year although it can be extended at the discretion of the VO. Read the instructions and submit what proof is listed. Most pay periods are biweekly so not an issue.

Hi,
I created express entry profile non accompany spouse and my score is 516. Both our workpermit expired on a December 10th 2025. We didn’t filed visitor record.we are planning to go back to india January 21st 2025. Any one know do we need to file the visitor record before going to india like 90 days restoration period time?also if i didn’t add spouse accompany in my profile any issue?if i add him my score below 490.

>also if i didn’t add spouse accompany in my profile any issue?if i add him my score below 490.

That's called material misrepresentation, IRCC was lenient on gaming the CRS system via "accompanying" abuse - last year (2025), they issued some PFLs to those who deserved it. How they'll act is something that no one knows, but we all hope that they are stricter on people who do misrep like these and ban them.

Can you please help me with my issue as well?
Can you please help me figure out what should i put in my Express entry profile, i am married and my wife is PR and we are not yet decided on spousal sponsorship so I am applying for work permit, when asked will this person accompany you to canada, i am confused on wether to answer yes or no in this regard as I am afraid to be considered in Misrepresentation

Give me suggestions whether i put as accompanying or non accompanying please as there is confusing opinion on the internet ?

This is the link to the ministerial instructions for express entry profile and the quote pertaining to my case …
