Hi Friends,

Today I received Medical request and RPRF request from CHC-London. My NOC is 0213. The interview has been waived. My status became "in process" on 31-Au-2010 and after almost more than 7 months, we have now received Medical Request. I am very happy :).

We have booked the appointment with DMP for the next week. I will keep you guys updated.

One question for seniors or anyone who knows the details of the medical test requirements - the DMP has asked my wife to undergo smear test and my wife would not like to do that. Is this test (smear test) mandatory? Pleas throw some light on this. Thanks in advance.

Regards,
amay

Impossible! You cannot have medical requests! Nectar says that NOCS 4131 and 0213 at London are on temporary hold! It must be true if Nectar says so!

Regrettably your medical requests are just figments of your imagination, because surely Nectar and his mysterious source cannot be wrong? ;)

Thanks, jakram!! Yes, I was a bit worried after reading the thread that nectar started. But now I am happy that I received the requests soon. Anyway, I had to wait for more than 7 months.

Wishing you good luck!! Now that the new quarter has begun, I hope you get MR soon. All the best!

Hi Dear
First of all congrats on getting medicals
Coming to Smear test its very easy and basically is for the detection of some sort of cancer in females.
It just takes 1 min to take samples and dont causes any pain just like the itch
Wonder if you are in Uk every surgery asks females to go through this test its free of charge

Hope this helps
Regards

A smear test is a standard thing which is recommended to do every 3 to 5 years or so anyway, and is there to check for signs of cervical cancer. It is very important to do often, regardless of whether you are applying for immigration or not!

I am not sure whether you are aware of UK shows - but there was a show called Big Brother with a contestant Jade Goody. She tragically died at the very young age of 27 due to cervical cancer, which they were not able to find early enough due to frequency of smear tests - she chose not to go to one, or ignored one or something like that.

Since this is usually treatable if found early enough, it underlines how important these tests are!
