What needs to be done at First Port of Entry and Final Destination! (If they are different)!
Hi
I have booked tickets to Edmonton (my Final destination in Canada)
But
I have booked tickets in such a way that TORONTO Pearson airport
is my first point of entry in CANADA and from there I will be taking a connecting
flight to Edmonton.
I have been doing some research and there is no clarity about

(1) If my " Landing " will be done in TORONTO or EDMONTON ?
(2) I have booked ticket as one flight ( Single PNR/ Single Booking) so will I be in A " Transit Lounge"
as claimed by Airlines or will i have to go to CBSA and do a " Landing" in Toronto and then will
proceed to Edmonton?
(3) Will I be applying for "SIN " number in Toronto or Edmonton ?
(4) Will I be getting my Medical cards in Toronto or Edmonton"
(5) If I will be getting SIN and Medical Card in Edmonton then am I correct in saying that
at Toronto I will be (a) Getting COPR checked by CBSA (b) getting customs clearance (c) Declaring CASH
(d) submitting "Goods To Follow declaration" (e) Declaring jewellery photos stamped
and
at Edmonton I will be (a) Applying for SIN (b) Applying for Medical card
please provide your inputs as this is a complex situation and there are number of Destinations in Canada without direct flights and there is absolutely no clarity on net about this !

Landing will be done in Toronto airport. You can get SIN number in Toronto airport. You need to apply for medical card in a registry in Edmonton.

Thanks
Another point to ponder is that i have about 3 hours stopover in Toronto
will it be sufficient or should it be more ?
how much time will "Landing " take and to board the next plane ?

It is ok. If the flight is delayed, then you can get SIN number in Edmonton service canada office.

STEPWISE PROCEDURE RECD FROM AIRPORT AUTHORITIES

Step 1 - Arrive at Toronto Pearson
Your flight will be arriving at Terminal 1.

Step 2 - Go to Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA)
Once you're in the terminal, look for the purple "Connections" or "Baggage Claim" signs and follow them. This can be a bit of a long walk, so take advantage of the moving sidewalks.

Step 3 - Pick up your baggage
Follow the signs to for "Baggage Claim" and pick up your baggage. You'll need to take it with you to recheck it.

Step 4 - Recheck your baggage
Drop off your baggage at the connection drop-off belt.

Step 5 - Confirm your gate number
Look for your departing flight on the flight information screens and double check that your "B" Gate hasn't changed.

Step 6 - Take the inter-terminal LINK Train to Terminal 3
Your connecting flight will be leaving from Terminal 3, and the quickest way to get there is the free wheelchair-accessible inter-terminal LINK Train. You can catch the train 24/7 from the Terminal 1 station. Maximum wait time is approximately 8 minutes. Follow the "B" Gates signs once you are in Terminal 3.

Step 7 - Go through security screening
Proceed to the "B" Gates security screening checkpoint.

Step 8 - Head to your departure gate.
There are various flight information screens throughout the terminal that will point you in the direction of your departing gate.

Does it mean, landing formalities need not be done at Toronto, just Baggage recheck is sufficient
