I'm going to Canada this week to see my wife. She has been there for a month. I'm going to visit for two months in my summer vacation. If somehow my application was completed when I was there, I would stay and call my job and quit. Our application is received, we have sponsor approval and we are in process.

I will have all our documents for application with me and lots of other stuff in checked baggage that would indicate that I might be there for good. That isn't 100% going to be the case (in fact only a small chance) but I took a lot of trinkets and stuff that I wouldn't want to cart later in the year when I come for good.

How much of this do I go into if I am asked questions at the border? What documents should I have on me at the border? I'm reasonably confident I might get asked questions as I was last time. It was a breeze but still I want to be ready.

I'm assuming you're visa-exempt, but where are you from?

Having an app in process shows you know and are following the rules. Even if you have a bunch of stuff with you, I don't think an officer will turn you away. You may want to have a return ticket. Most airlines will ask you for details about your return home if you do not, since it is their responsibility to return you to your country of origin if you are refused, so they try to cover their butts.

I'm Irish so visa exempt. I'll be flying from Korea. Yes, I do have a return ticket as I probably will be coming back in August. So, print out the sponsorship approval letter and have my UCI number?

Probably a good idea, but I've never carried mine while crossing the border and they've been able to see my application in process.
