Going in person to Ottawa for PR visa stamping. .

Hi folks,

Has anyone gone to Ottawa in person to get the PR visa stamp? Do they return the passport on the same day if you go in person?
I got my medicals done in Sept and I'm expecting PPR in November. The problem is I'm traveling out of Canada for close to 40 days starting Dec 1st. Since cic now gives only a 30 day period to submit the passport, I will not be able to submit it on my return to Canada.

What options do I have if I get the PPR just a few days before my departure? I don't want to change my travel plans.

I don't think so that is an option. You may be able to drop the passport there but that would make no different than courier.

You can ask CPC ottawa for extension of date of submission of passport,I dont think they will have any issues with it to extend till your medical is valid.
