Good Day Everyone.. May i ask what does Given Name(s) in most of the forms mean.

Does this mean only the name, or name with the maiden name.

Family Name(s) = would be husband surname
Given Names(s) = would be?

Thanks!

Hi!

Your given name is your FIRST name (and MIDDLE name, if you have one). So for example if your name is Bob Joe Smith, then Bob Joe would be your given names (your middle name is included here). Smith is your last name, also called surname.

If you're trying to fill out IMM0008, there's a box right below the ones where it asks for you surname and given name where you can write your maiden name.

Most important thing here I think it to right it exactly as it is on your passport.

Thank you for this answer. apparently my passport have it segregated to Given Name, Middle Name (shows there my maiden surname), and last name.

Thanks for all the feedback

boomlet is right. "given name" states for basically the names your parents gave you when you were born (NOT the family name).
