I paid my 10K GIC last year but my visa was unfortunately refused and after that I went for Judicial Review and got settlement successfully. Since the GIC requirements have changed since the start of 2024, I have paid 21K GIC in Scotiabank and now I want to refund my old GIC from CIBC as I have the new GIC which I will submit in Additional Document Request (ADR) that I have received from IRCC after my file was reopened last week. Can anyone guide on the process of GIC refund from CIBC, total time it takes for the money to get in my account, and how to apply for refund without a refusal letter. I cannot submit the refusal letter as it is no longer valid since my file has reopened.
