Does having a GIC more than the required minimum 10,000 CAD increase the chance of a visa or actually has a bad impact?

Gic is for your personal use.
Anything you deposit over the 10k is just an extra amount for you
IRCC only require a min of 10k
So NO it is not a deciding factor

It could be deciding factor if VO wonders why the applicant got a GIC of 20k when only 10k are required, what is he planning on doing with all this money?

11k from ScotiaBank. Yes too much will raise a flag.
