Ghost updates - how do you know you got one?

I just had ghost update today "October 27 2023".. is that an update for everyone due to system update? or someone is touching my file that triggered the date update?

I also got one an hour before. AoR October 18th

Seems like a system update since a lot of us got it. Taking example from the last system update (march 02) it means nothing... sorry.

I thought so too, seeing the larger than usual number here reporting the ghost update. But I got a subsequent update ‘Attend the interview’. I’ve been scheduled for an interview on Nov 16th.

I also had an Oct 27 ghost update on my son's citizenship application tracker. The first time I logged in , it also had a 'star' with new update at the bottom but gone since then with no change at all. That was the first movement after AOR on March 2, and 2 rounds of follow up using MP office. I have been checking daily but I think I would stop now LOL!

I noticed an update in my tracker, stating, "We received your enquiry" dated Nov 10. However, I haven't contacted IRCC. Could this be considered a ghost update??

Here is my timeline:

1. Applied Nov 2022
2. AOR Feb 2023
3. Background Verification Completed Mar 2023
4. Citizenship test completed March 26 2023

Does anybody have an idea if we can expect to hear something soon from CIC for the ones who got a ghost update on Oct 27?

Also, my friend applied through a registered agent with IRCC and she got oath ceremony email with in 40 days from the test passed date. I am not sure how does that work. If we apply via an agent, then IRCC do not check anything?

We are on the same boat, me applied may 2022, till now still no oath 19 month now

Hi. We received a ghost update on Oct 27th and today when I checked online account it says All tasks as 'Completed' except the Citizenship ceremony. I am expecting that we will receive email from CIC may be in the next couple of days with the next steps. Thank you!
