Hi,

My wife is trying to get her PCC in India. She is in Gujarat, can someone please advise what documents they ask for? Someone told her she needs a letter from the Canadian embassy but I find this a little strange. Hope someone someone can shed some light. Thanks!

You need to go to SSPolice office to get Pcc . Requirements are two id proofs and 2 photographs.

Thanks.

1 more question... it has to be done upfront right? She was told that CIC only considers pcc to be valid for 6 months and then if she requests a new one within 1 yr; a letter from cic is required. But i dont know if this info she was given is correct. Thanks

Ya you need to send it upfront. Pcc from India is valid for year and you don't need letter from cic. Even i got pcc twice from India and never submit any letter from cic .

Gud luck.

When my husband went to get his PCC in Hyderabad India they asked him for a letter too. I too found it very strange because why would the Canadian embassy write him a letter. Plus this isn't an official requirement listed anywhere on the immigration Canada website. I was directed to this form by an immigration call centre agent. Just Google "request for police certificate/clearance (appendix a)" and its the first pdf link. When he went the next time he got the PCC on the spot.

Hope that helps!
