I have a question I hope someone can answer. I recently got a job offer and got a 3 year permit. I wasn't given an LMIA because I was exempt through NAFTA. However, once the Express Entry requirements came out, I saw that I needed an LMIA to get the extra 600 points and the invite to apply for permanent residency. So, I informed the company I'm working for and they said they will get me a LMIA.
Here's my question, once I get the LMIA, do I need to get a new permit? I just got the NAFTA permit a week ago and if seems kind of redundant to do another border run since I just did one. Thanks for any insight on this!
