You would need to see a Canadian doctor (e.g. pay to go to a walk-in clinic) and get a prescription written.

I was on the Canadian version of microgynon 30 and it was $28 for 3 months if I remember correctly. Non OHIP. Not including walk in fee. Try to get get doc to give you a long a supply as possible or you're goin to have to keep paying the walk in fee for. 1 minute conversation and prescription refil.

Some doctors may not want to give a longer supply of medicine than needed. They may want to make sure patients are not having any side effects. This mostly deal with liability issues. Plus they will want to make money from the fees.

My walk in appointment in Manitoba was $65. They actually didn't charge me for my follow up appointment either, but they were aware that I am in the middle of waiting for PR. It was also cheaper to just pay the $65 than to deal through travelers insurance. (would depend on yours if you do have it what it would cost otherwise.)

$28 for a 3 month supply doesn't seem right. I am guessing it is at least double that at the very minimum given my own prescription. You may be able to go to a public health clinic where they sell birth control at a lower cost than a doctor's office but not sure if they will see you without a health card. I would call around because some doctors will want a full exam before renewing your prescription. I would budget $100-150 for the appointment and prescription.

Just checked my receipts from 2015/2016 (when i was on the pill) and it varies from $30-$42 for a 3 month supply. I switched pills a few times due to one brand changing names/one being unavailable etc. I paid $65 for any walk in appointments i had to, but as mentioned i did only have to pay for the walk in appt a few times before i got to know the pharmacist/receptionist.

I am in Eastern Ontario.

I pay $65 for a 3 month supply. I have attached to Ontario drug formulary. You can estimate how much it would cost and what might be the Canadian equivalent of whatever you are currently taking. There is a bit of a mark-up plus dispensing fee if at a pharmacy. Public health clinics or public sexual health clinics will be cheaper. Some have age limits like under 21/25 so call around. Also ask whether they need insurance.
