Generic Application Form - Does my wife (applicant) need to list dependents?

I am in the process of sponsoring my wife (Japanese) for her Permanent Residency Visa. I am a Canadian citizen and we have one 5-year-old daughter, also a Canadian citizen.

In the Generic Application Form for Canada, under Dependant(s), is she required to include myself and our child (both Canadian citizens)? It states the she must include her spouse if applicable, and all dependent children.

If so, does that change the total number in Application Details #3 (How many family members, including you, are in this application?)? She currently has the number as 1.

Remember, the form is for people who are applying for Permanent Residence in Canada. You and your child are citizens so do not need PR.
