GENERIC APP FORM FOR CANADA

Hello,

A simple question about question #3 first page under 'application details,' in Generic Application Form for Canada.

'How many family members, including you, are in this application?'

I put 3

I am the Sponsor, my wife the Principle Applicant. We have a 5 year daughter who is a Canadian Citizen, born in India, who has yet to leave India. I don't know why I'm questioning my answer, 3, it seems correct, just want to make sure.

Also for the photographs, does this include me as well? I will not be accompanying them.

And for medicals, will my daughter have to get medical as well?

I get confused sometimes with 'family members.'

'How many family members, including you, are in this application?'

The number of family members filled in IMM0008 (Generic Application Form) refers to the family members that will be issued PR visa when sponsorship is approved.

This excludes you the Sponsor who is a Canadian Citizen or PR, and not eligible to be issued a visa.

This excludes your daughter who is a Canadian Citizen, and not eligible to be issued a visa..........but be sure to have her proof of Canadian Citizenship and Canadian Travel Passport for travel later to Canada when PR visa has been approved for the mother).

So your answer to the Question should be 1 (ONE)...........except your family has another accompanying dependant who is not a Canadian citizen or PR.

Question in IMM0008: How many family members, including you, are in this application: 1

Only your wife who is in the application will do MEDICAL.

The correct answer is "1". When it says "including you", the "you" is referring to the principal applicant. Technically, you and your child are not included in the application because neither of you are being sponsored.

No photos or medicals are required for you or your child. Your wife only.
