I did so many actions such as request notes, contacting MP and sending webform, all of which never triggered updates in GCkey account

GCKey is a different story. typically a GCKey ghost update indicate a real progress, whereas tracker update may or may not (i.e. tracker is more sensitive than GCKey).

Never heard anyone was given a refusal because of security.

A few cases i saw online (no guarantee they are real) were all related to military experience (espcially had operation against Canada or its allies) or lied in PFL.
