Go to this link that is govt. website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp
its $5 the link other users gave is private organization which charge $40.

https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do

you can order it here as well for $5.00
I ordered from GCMS and paid $50.00

not really sure what the difference is but I order all the notes from Mississauga and the VO

It's $23 here: http://gcmsnow.com/ That's the cheapest I could find ever

But if you are in Canada or have friends or relatives in Canada, you could do it for $5

Actually, from inside Canada you can order notes for free. If the sponsor is ordering notes for the applicant, he just has to attach the consent form signed by the applicant.

I hope u r not in Canada.that's y u say that ordering from Canada is free. have you ever ordered notes?I DID TWICE. ON A CERTAIN PAGE YOU ARE PROMPTED TO PAY $5 FROM YOUR CREDIT CARD.

Yes, I did. Like, 5 times already. Always received them within a month. Never paid ANYTHING. And yes, I am in Canada.

You don't pay the $5 because you are requesting the wrong information
You should request the Access to information act

Directly from ATIP website.

Personal information is usually requested under the Privacy Act.

There are no fees charged for request made under the Privacy Act.

The purpose of the Privacy Act is to protect the privacy of individuals with respect to personal information about themselves where it is held by a government institution and to provide individuals with the right to access such information.

Note: Personal information which belongs to an individual who is not a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or currently living in Canada must be requested under the Access to Information Act.

All government records (which include corporate documents and personal information) may be requested under the Access to Information Act.

The application fee for request made under that Access to Information Act is $5.00 and processing fees may also be charged under some circumstances.

The purpose of the Access to Information Act is to provide a right of access to records under the control of a government institution to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or any individual or corporation present in Canada.

Correct, I order the notes under Privacy Act. I don't need to use the Access to Information Act as both my sponsor and I are in Canada, therefore I get all the information for free. If the sponsored person is residing outside of Canada, then you are correct, Privacy Act will not apply. That is why in my original post I mentioned "inside Canada".
