GCMS notes say fingerprints required, but no update on ECAS

Hello all. I submitted my application in June, and it has been in process since December. Last month I ordered GCMS notes just to see if they had started anything, and under criminality it said:

Status: Fingerprints Required
Status Updated Date: January 15th 2021
Due Date: March 2nd 2021

But my ECAS has not updated past:
3. We started processing your application on December 17, 2020.

Should I have received an email yet about the fingerprint request? The due date has come and gone and nothing has updated and I did not receive any physical mail or email.. has anyone else experienced this?

I am on the same boat. Just received my GCSM notes today. Application sent in Jan 2020. Only criminality has started. It says fingerprint required but I never had any correspondence on that. I wonder whether I should contact them to be sure.

Hi fellas, I am in the same boat. The due date is just reminder for officers. I am assuming the FP request is queued and once it reaches your stage you will get the request. If you don't see it on ECAS there is nothing to worry, also with the covid extended timelines it is better to have the request at later stage so you do not need to submit your fingerprint twice as they expire in a year.

It looks IRCC is pushing back fingerprints at later stages. This applicant from Jan 2020 got it after doing his test.

I wouldn't stress about it, my ECAS still says "In Progress" since November 2019.. I received an email in September 2020 for fingerprints and passed the online test on April 16th 2021

I am quite glad to hear that I am not the only one experiencing this. My status for fingerprint request was entered into the system just before the first lockdown in March 2020. I am guessing things were put on hold. I am just hoping that they haven't forgotten about my application!
